Home Restoration Services was founded by Greg Schmidt in 1995, guided by one simple idea: the beauty and elegance of a vintage home can be restored and perpetuated through thoughtful remodeling. We renovate, restore and build additions using a proven process, producing seamless, high-quality remodeling informed by the architectural style and era of the home.

About Greg Schmidt
I built my first piece of furniture during college in 1974, engaging my passion for building and remodeling ever since. While earning my Bachelor of Landscape Architecture in 1977, I also pursued my desire to be a craftsman; designing and building countless furniture, cabinet, and woodworking projects since then. In 1991, I started a small remodeling company specializing in renovating and repairing vintage homes in the Minneapolis Lakes area and the Crocus Hill area of St. Paul.

In 1995, I founded Home Restoration Services, Incorporated – bringing together all the elements of a professional remodeling company, blending new and past affiliations with architects, engineers, interior designers and landscape architects. Along the way, I formed alliances with a core group of professional artisan subcontractors who live up to high standards of courtesy, attention to detail, and service to the client.
